AiSensy vs Wati vs Interakt: An Honest Comparison

We build on all three and sell none of them. Why the monthly platform fee is the least important number, and what actually decides your WhatsApp bill.

Every comparison of these platforms you will find is written by one of them. AiSensy publishes a page called “AiSensy vs Interakt vs Wati”. The rest are agencies reselling a platform for commission. Read enough of them and you learn that whoever paid for the article wins.

We are an implementation partner, not a Business Solution Provider. We build the flows and get paid the same whichever platform you sit on, so here is the comparison without a thumb on the scale.

The short version: the monthly platform fee is the least important number in this decision. For most businesses the per-message rate and the number of user seats decide the bill, and the sticker price hides both.

What each one charges

Taken from each provider’s own pricing page in July 2026. Check them before you commit, because all three move.

Platform feePer-message, marketingNotes
InteraktFree tier, then ₹2,799 or ₹3,799/mo₹0.970 / ₹0.958 / ₹0.949 by tierUnlimited agents on paid plans
AiSensyFree tier, then ₹2,500 or ₹3,500/mo₹1.09Broadcast and ads focus
Wati₹999 one-time PAYG, then tiered subscriptionsnot published3 to 5 users included by plan

Two things stand out before any feature comparison.

The per-message rate is where the money actually goes

Look again at Interakt’s column. The marketing rate falls from ₹0.970 to ₹0.958 to ₹0.949 as you climb their plans, and their Enterprise tier advertises “No Markup Charges”. A provider does not discount a cost it merely passes through. That descending ladder is the markup, published openly, and Interakt deserves credit for showing it when others do not.

That mechanic matters more than the subscription. Meta’s own India rate for a marketing message sits around ₹0.86 after the January 2026 revision, and every paisa above that is platform margin, GST, or both. At 10,000 marketing messages a month, a three-paisa difference is ₹300. At 100,000 it is ₹3,000, which dwarfs the gap between the platform plans.

So the arithmetic runs the other way from how these pages are designed to be read. High volume: pay more for the plan that cuts your per-message rate. Low volume: take the cheapest plan, or the free tier, because the rate barely matters.

The number nobody puts on the pricing page

Two questions decide whether the figures above are comparable at all, and neither is answered on any of the three pricing pages:

  1. Is this rate before or after 18% GST? Meta’s ₹0.86 plus GST is about ₹1.02. That alone explains most of the gap between Meta’s rate and what these platforms display, so a headline rate without GST treatment stated is not a like-for-like number.
  2. Does it include your margin? AiSensy’s ₹1.09 sits above the GST-inclusive Meta figure. Interakt’s tiers sit below it. We cannot tell you from the outside which is charging what, because the pages do not say.

Wati does not publish a per-message rate at all on its pricing page; you are directed to a rate card. That is not a scandal, but it does mean you cannot compare Wati to the other two until you ask.

Ask every provider the same two questions in writing before you sign: is that rate inclusive of GST, and is it Meta’s rate at cost or with your margin? A provider who answers plainly is telling you something useful. One who does not has also told you something.

Where each one is genuinely stronger

Pricing aside, these are not the same product.

Interakt is a shared inbox first. It integrates with Shopify and WooCommerce out of the box, which makes it the path of least resistance for a D2C brand sending order updates. It is also the only one of the three that publishes its per-message rates per tier, which we count for something.

AiSensy is built for broadcast. Segmentation, retargeting, campaign tooling and native Click-to-WhatsApp ads. If your plan is regular campaigns to an opted-in list, this is the one shaped for that job.

Wati has been around longest and shows it in the conversational builder and the support dashboard. Its support is multichannel, which matters more than teams expect at the point something breaks on a Friday evening.

How we would actually choose

Answer these three, in order, and the choice usually makes itself.

What is the job? Support inbox with a team answering, or campaigns to a list? Inbox work points at Interakt or Wati. Campaign work points at AiSensy. Buying the campaign tool to run a support desk is the most common expensive mistake here.

How many people need to log in? Wati includes 3 to 5 users depending on plan and charges for more. Interakt advertises unlimited agents on paid plans. For a support team of eight, that difference outweighs everything else on the page.

What monthly message volume, and of which type? Utility and service messages are cheap or free; marketing messages are roughly seven times the cost of utility. A clinic sending reminders and a D2C brand blasting campaigns have almost nothing in common on these platforms, even at identical headcount. Work out your real split before reading another comparison table.

What we would tell you on a call

If you send fewer than a few hundred messages a month, start on a free tier and do not pay anyone anything. All three have one. You can migrate later; your number and your templates come with you.

If your volume is genuinely small and your flows are simple, you do not need us either. The platforms have template builders, and a competent person in your team can wire up an away message and a menu in an afternoon.

Where we do earn the fee is when the flows get real: qualification that routes to the right person, bookings that land in a calendar, order updates pulled from your billing system, campaigns that respect opt-in, every conversation logged against a customer record. That is integration work, and it looks the same whichever platform sits underneath.

We are not resellers and we take no commission from any of these three, which is exactly why we can tell you to use the cheap one. Full setup costs, Meta’s rates and the GST treatment are broken down line by line in our WhatsApp API pricing guide, or see what implementation involves on the WhatsApp automation page.
